Well, it is a 2nd edition after all and as we all now those were cast in gold which somewhat explains the price...

Felt on the bases you say? In that case they'd be cheap at twice the price!

Someone is either desperate for cash, is extremely greedy or has lost their grip on reality?

Of course it could just be a GW Director who thinks this is actually a reasonable price, based on how much they sell new stuff for!  ;)

I think the barbarian box is especially rare. And only sold in the USA or something like that.

The Barbarian and Elf sets were available in the United States and not Europe, so certainly in the UK, for example, they can be hard to come by.
