You have a good look going I wouldnt put down your painting, that or your photo skills are a lot better than your letting on ;).

thanks  :)

well, my photo skills do suck pretty bad, so maybe my painting skills can be considered quite ok (if you take into account that i've only been into BFG for slightly more than a year now...   :D )

Those blue ebay rescues don't look bad, mate. get some ink washes on them and you'll be in business!

oh heck no, if you look at them closer (in RL), they actually do look pretty bad.

i plan to completely repaint them in the ultima sheme, the "daemon slayer" CA was one of those blue-white ebay ships, and now take a look at it how it looks now  :D

le travesti!!! (just to get a rise out of the fellow German :) )

yeah I've had a few of ... those purchased over the years. I assume this haul from ebay is from before the SG- Heresy?

oh yes, it was a year ago....

and through some devious tricks and a load of sheer luck, i got the entire blue-and-white fleet plus the cardboard ordnance markers from the basic BFG box set for essentially.... free.

yes. i saved 300 euros there.
crappy paintjob or not, IT WAS WORTH IT!!  ;D ;D

Got to love when that happens :D! Im just glad I never got rid of all my markers, wish I had not sold any of my models and rulebooks too but eh i was going through a divorce at the time and they werent a priority.
I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

oh, and these transports are painted by me, too. they are not mine, but my buddy who owns them sucks really bad at painting (it's the truth, and his own words, so no, i am not being an ass, he said that himself!  ;D ), so i painted them for him.

these were the first BFG ships i painted and i did it in a hurry as well as not really caring much about accuracy since they're not mine, so these look pretty crappy  ::)

oh well, they usually die within the first two turns, so it doesn't really matter  ;D

three of them are green because my buddy has his fleet in the gothic sector colors, and the single grey one in the back was...  well... a color-test for my own fleet color sheme, so i could see how it looks before i screw up my ships  8)

Those look good man. Ever consider paint removing the globbed up ships? It's really easy!

yeah, i will do that with the metal ships, but i am not aware that you ccould strip the paint off a plastic ship...  is there a method for that?

Hrmmm good point. Hard to tell what's on the market there still. Now that I think of it Simple green isn't sold there.

Another thing that you should be able to do is use automotive engine degreaser for stripping paint. I've use the casterol super clean product before on plenty plastic chaos cruisers. Just don't leave them for more than a day.
There's probably an equivalent product (or exact product) back in Germany.

well, thanks for the advice, i'll see if i am motivated enough to put that much effort into just three cruisers....   ::)

as you can see with the "daemon slayer", just simply painting over it turns out well enough, i am no pro painter, i am ok with it how it looks  :D
