Ok, here is my Step-by-Step for doing a red and white Warmaster Empire soldier:
Step 1: Prime it and correct with black if not every surface is covered

Step 2: Paint the flesh parts, you may need more layers to make the black not shine trough the colour. I used Dwarf Flesh.

Step 3: Paint one side in light grey (here: Fortress Grey) ... this is the ground colour for the white and especially for the hollow parts

Step 4: Other half gets a deep red (Scab Red) ... same reason as the grey

Step 5: Paint the brown surfaces like beard, ground, shoes, some wood or pockets

Step 6: Use the wash "Ogryn Flesh" on the flesh parts ... take as much as you want, the more you use, the darker the skin gets

Step 7: I used "Chainmail" for all the metal surfaces ... sword, helmet, and so on

Step 8: Ok now the miniature gets some life ... paint white (or a white - light brown/grey mix) on the higher surfaces over the light grey layer. Leave the hollow parts light grey. The feather on the helmet is made by drybrushing (I think we all know how this works

)

Step 9: "Vermin Brown" for the wood of spears and other long sticks like this. Also leave some dark brown places where the shadow should be.

Step 10: The pocket and shoes and other leather-like surfaces get "Snakebite Leather" ... same here: dark brown = shadow

Step 11: Take a small brush for the beard - trust me, its worth it

I used "Kommando Khaki" for this beard and hair. Just made some strokes, but you can also paint the whole beard in one colour (exeption: the shadow parts

)

Step 12: "Blood Red" is the colour of the bright parts of his uniform. Leave the shadows .... blablabla, you know what I mean

Step 13: Almost done. Last thing to do is using the wash "Badab Black" on the metal parts ... this technique looks cleaner than drybrushing metal surfaces.

Step 14: add some this and that, a canon here and some crewman there. Basing materials, different browns and some grass e violá
Imperial Cannons
Hope you like them ... and also the step-by-step. Was much work (so you better like it

).
