Christmas Wish Lists
« on: December 12, 2015, 02:41:03 PM »
Hello all,

Merry Christmas everyone!  Hopefully everyone has been nice this year, and Santa is going to bring them some goodies.  I'm just curious as to what is on everyone's specialist games wish list (my family and fiancée usually don't buy me war games stuff, so it's what I get right after Christmas with gift cards and what not).

Here's what I'm hoping for this Holiday Season:

Warmonger Zwiehanders and Crossbowmen
A Empire Character blister
A High Elf Character blister
Silver Helms
High Elf Chariots

It's nice that Warnonger made it on someone's list. I usually don't bother asking for game stuff, as anything I'm after at this point is probably OOP. I did ask for an airbrush, crompressor and new W&N brushes though.

Now that you've given me an excuse, I suppose I can justify it as a Xmas present ...
Recently purchased some Eureka snakemen, a huge Reaper scorpian, and some little Reaper scorpians.

@Empireaddict

Which size of scorpion do you think is big/small enough to use for the Tomb Kings? Enquiring minds need to know.

That idea is really cool idea. I wanted to buy snakemens and use them with the list or lizardmen. So I am really interested in see how you will make that project. I am a really fun of your work.

My Xmas present for the hobby is X-wing of Fantasy Flight, and my own christmas present (maybe I will do it in january) is an order to .... probably magister millitum to buy some fantasy 10mm and colours and guns ruleset.

Nice.  I've been resisting X-wing myself.  But Armada might just get me.

I've played X wing and is really addicting game. Easy mechanic and great fun. Very recommendable.

Not played Armada, so I could not compare

@Stormwind, the big scorpion is 85mm long, 60mm tall (to top of tail), and although the claws at the front are 50mm across, I have worked out that I can gently bend the legs to within 40mm.  Therefore it’s going to be mounted on a 60 x 40mm stand.  The small scorpions are 25mm long, 17mm wide and 13mm high.  But snipping the back of their bases will reduce their footprint to 20mm to allow mounting on a WM 'infantry' stand.

@JChaos79, the plan is to create a Medusa-themed (desert) army using Lizardmen stats.  Big scorpion = stegadon & little scorpions = salamanders.

enough time off work to get my dark elf reinforcements painted up in time for the big game on the 30th ;)

my hobby already takes up enough spare time so it's very doubtful my wife wants to encourage it further with wargaming related gifts ;)

Dear Mr. Claus,

As per earlier years I am sending you a list of my biggest wants for this years "I have been good now give me the damn things I so righteously deserve and mightily covet"-event.

Savage Orc Boar Boys - any number of units will suffice.
Savage Orcs - any number of units...

Other than that I am pretty much covered. Thank you.

Oi, Nicky-boy or whatever yer name is! Yes, you, the lardy one who could easily lose a few pounds!

Send me:

2 units of Dwarf pikes (Dogs of War army)
2 units of Dwarf crossbows (Dogs of War army)
2 units of Hobgoblin Chariots (Hobgoblin army)

or we'll be having words the next time you and the elves roll into town, OK pal?!  ;)

Actually I'm pretty sure the kids have got me the above, being as I dropped a rather massive hint in the form of an email to them all a few weeks back, coupled with an appropriately sized box arriving from Magister Militum the other day, addressed to SWMBO.  ;) ;)

@andys, don't pick fights with Elves.  They have Command 10 generals, heavy cavalry, flyers, AND awesome shooting ...
